Who am I?

My name is ScaryDee, and I am a scaredy cat turned horror superfan! From the trashy B-Series level films like Zoombies, to classic slasher films in the style of Friday the 13th and cinematic masterpieces like John Carpenter’s The Thing, from the terrifying novels of Stephen King to the cosmic dread of Junji Ito’s manga, I am hopelessly in love with horror. My fascination started one Halloween night when me and my friends got together to do a scary movie marathon, and I realized that horror is the perfect storytelling genre. A bad comedy will make you bitter, a boring action flick will make you indifferent, but it’s impossible to ignore horror. It is the perfect combination of every primal human emotion into a piece of artwork: fear, lust, and laughter in a marvelous blend of blood and guts.
Inspired by this experience, I became a student of the genre and now I spend most of my free time analyzing the medium in all its forms. Join me as I take a deep dive into all things horror, from movies, shows, comics, video games, novels, and more! I genuinely believe that everybody has a piece of horror media that they can fall in love with, and my goal with this blog is to explore them all! Let’s go down the rabbit hole of the ultimate fiction genre.
